A major accident occurred in Hyderabad during a promotional event for Kannada actor Yash's upcoming film Toxic. The incident took place at Malla Reddy University when a heavy sound and lighting setup collapsed near the stage. Two students sustained injuries in the mishap, while one female student fainted amid the ensuing panic and chaos.
Setup Collapse During Live Speech
The tragedy unfolded while Yash was on stage addressing a massive gathering of university students and fans. Thousands of enthusiastic attendees had assembled at the campus for the pre-release promotional event. Without warning, a heavy loudspeaker stand and sound box framework lost stability and crashed down near the audience area close to the main stage.
Yash Halts Event Immediately
Realizing the severity of the situation, Yash promptly stopped his speech mid-way and urged staff and security personnel to assist the injured attendees. The injured students received immediate first aid and were moved to a medical facility for further care, where their conditions were reported as stable. Medical help was also administered to the student who lost consciousness during the sudden rush.
Questions Over Safety Measures
The unexpected collapse of the heavy structural equipment raised serious concerns regarding safety protocols and structural checks at the venue. Despite the huge turnout expected for the star's visit, adequacy of equipment anchoring and crowd control arrangements fell short. The event was brought to an early conclusion following the incident as authorities restored order on campus.
