The discussion explored their ongoing professional journey as well as the expanding narrative horizon of the Maddock Films horror comedy universe. Amid questions regarding upcoming releases, Vijan addressed the operational plan and official timeline regarding Stree 3.
Theatrical Arrival Moves From 2027 to 2028
Updating the gathering on the project's schedule, Dinesh Vijan clarified that Stree 3 is now slated for a 2028 theatrical launch. While an exact calendar date remains undecided, the production banner is eyeing major festive windows. Vijan noted that the team could target either the Independence Day period or the Christmas corridor for its theatrical rollout. The updated guidance replaces previous expectations that had pegged the release date for August 13, 2027.
Script Completed as Amar Kaushik Returns to Direct
Amar Kaushik will return to helm the directorial responsibilities for Stree 3, which once again features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in leading roles. Vijan shared that Kaushik has already finalized the screenplay for the sequel. While refraining from revealing plot specifics to avoid spoilers that might upset the director, Vijan emphasized that viewers will experience all the hallmark features that defined earlier installments. He added that the arc from beginning to end is designed to offer an entirely fresh narrative perspective.
Production Schedule for Vicky Kaushal's Mahavatar
Before cameras roll on Stree 3, Amar Kaushik is directing Mahavatar, another large scale cinematic project from the banner. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the role of Bhagwan Parashuram. Detailing the immediate filming schedule, Vijan confirmed that production on Mahavatar will commence toward the end of January, with the crew aiming to wrap principal photography by June. Following that phase, the team plans to commence filming another project toward the end of next year, though details regarding that subsequent venture remain under wraps.
