She revealed that when the project first came to her, she was initially trying every possible way to avoid being a part of this iconic movie and was actually on the verge of rejecting the role.
Why Dimple Tried to Avoid the Role
During the event, when Dimple was asked why she chose to play the character of Tara Jaiswal in a film driven by the lead story of three young men, she laughingly addressed her nervousness. Dimple clarified that she absolutely loved the script and the overall story of the film, but the role was quite challenging, which is why she was running away from the character.
She was in no mood to take on the role herself and kept recommending other actresses to director Farhan Akhtar. She admitted that at that time, she simply did not have the courage to pull off such a complex character on screen.
Dimple’s Hilarious Comment on Akshaye Khanna
Speaking openly about her character, Dimple Kapadia also made a very funny comment. She said that a younger guy falling in love with her massaged her ego quite a bit. However, she immediately added in a humorous tone that she would never advise anyone to do the same.
She further stated that as people can see in the film, Sid, played by Akshaye Khanna, never came back and left her behind. As soon as she said this, everyone present at the venue burst into laughter, creating a lighthearted atmosphere.

Dimple Kapadia also shared that despite having all kinds of fears and hesitations in her mind, she realized the right thing at the opportune moment and agreed to take on this memorable role.
