Relief is in sight for candidates who ran into trouble during the June 2026 UGC NET papers in English, Commerce or Sociology. The National Testing Agency has put the hall tickets for the re-conducted exam in these three subjects online. Candidates can log in to the official UGC NET website to download their admit card.
This chance isn't open to every UGC NET aspirant, though. Only those who appeared for the English, Commerce or Sociology paper between June 22 and June 30, 2026 will sit for this re-test. Candidates from other subjects are unaffected.
Why a re-test became necessary
When these three papers were originally held, several centres reported flaws in the question papers along with technical glitches, and some administrative lapses also surfaced. Candidates raised objections over this, prompting the agency to review the matter. Once the review confirmed the problems, the agency scrapped all three papers and decided to hold them afresh to keep the process fair.
Which paper falls on which day and shift
The re-test will run across two days in three separate shifts. The English paper will be held on September 9, 2026 in the first shift, from 9 am to 12 noon. The same day's second shift, from 3 pm to 6 pm, is reserved for Commerce. Sociology will follow on September 10, 2026, again in the first shift between 9 am and 12 noon. All three papers will be conducted in computer-based test mode.
How to download the admit card
To get the hall ticket, candidates need to open the UGC NET website first, where the homepage carries a link for the June 2026 re-exam admit card. Clicking it brings up a form asking for the application number and date of birth. After entering these details along with the security code shown on screen and hitting submit, the admit card appears on the page. It's worth saving it and printing at least two or three copies, in case one gets damaged before exam day.

Once the hall ticket is in hand, candidates should carefully verify every detail on it, including their name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam centre name, reporting time and the gate-closing time. If any of this information carries a printing error, it needs to be flagged to the NTA helpline right away, since such mistakes can cause real trouble on the day of the exam.
Rules to keep in mind before heading to the centre
Along with the admit card, candidates must carry an original photo ID such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card or driving licence, plus a passport-size photograph. Electronic gadgets, smartwatches or Bluetooth devices are strictly not allowed inside. Since the exam is computer-based, biometric verification and checks at the gate can take time, so it's advisable to reach the centre at least an hour before the reporting time.
