Millions of aspirants preparing for government jobs in Rajasthan have received important news about their exam schedules. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission has revised the proposed timelines of several recruitment exams, citing administrative reasons for the changes. The most significant revision concerns the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive, or RAS, preliminary exam 2026, which a large number of candidates have been waiting for.
RAS Preliminary Exam Now on December 6
According to the revised schedule released by the commission, the RAS preliminary exam 2026 will now be held on December 6, 2026, instead of the earlier proposed date of November 29, 2026. This means the exam date has been pushed back by roughly a week. The commission has clarified that this decision was taken purely for administrative reasons. One benefit of this shift is that candidates get a few extra days to prepare, which they can use to strengthen their exam strategy further.
Probable Date for RAS Main Exam Also Announced
Alongside the preliminary exam, the commission has also released the probable dates for the RAS main exam. If the preliminary exam is completed as per the revised schedule on December 6, 2026, the main exam will be conducted on May 1 and 2, 2027. The main exam will run over two days. However, the commission noted that the detailed timetable, shift-wise schedule and subject-wise plan for the main exam will be released separately at a later date. For now, only the probable dates are available to candidates.
Professor, Special Education, Recruitment Exam Date Also Changed
Besides RAS, the commission has also revised the date for the Professor, Special Education, competitive exam 2026 under the Secondary Education Department. This exam was earlier proposed for December 6, 2026, but will now be held on December 8, 2026. The commission said this change was also made for administrative reasons, to avoid any clash or difficulty in conducting the exams.
Assistant Prosecution Officer Exam Date Fixed
The commission has also announced the probable date for the Assistant Prosecution Officer, Main, exam 2026. This exam will be held on December 27, 2026. The commission said the detailed schedule for this exam, including the exact timing and other necessary information, will be released separately later.
