Dyson has expanded its smart home cleaning portfolio with the official retail launch of its latest robot vacuum generation, named the Nurovi line. Following a broader product showcase earlier in September that spanned vacuum cleaners and a camera-equipped electric toothbrush, the company has brought three automated floor cleaners to market. The newly available lineup consists of the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry, priced at $550, the mid-tier Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash + Dry at $700, and the high-end Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, which carries a price tag of $1,200.
Refreshed Aesthetics and Laser-Guided Navigation
The Nurovi family introduces visible hardware updates alongside significant shifts in underlying technology. All three devices adopt a uniform light gray exterior, distinguishing both the autonomous cleaner and its companion base station from the earlier Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai. Despite the cosmetic overhaul, the base docks retain Dyson's signature transparent, canister-style design elements. A notable engineering upgrade across the lineup is the switch to lidar laser-precision navigation, moving away from the high-definition camera tracking deployed on prior robotic models. Furthermore, every unit incorporates Dyson's proprietary Twin-Capture System, engineered to pick up fine dust and larger debris across hard surfaces and carpets alike.
Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry: Dedicated Vacuuming for Carpeted Spaces
Serving as the entry point to the range at $550, the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry focuses entirely on dry suction, omitting wet mopping capabilities altogether. It provides the same foundational lidar guidance and Twin-Capture architecture found on the higher-end siblings, serving as a direct evolution over older hardware like the Dyson Vis Nav. This unit is targeted primarily at living spaces dominated by rugs, carpeting, and soft flooring where liquid washing is unnecessary. Customers can purchase the R1 directly through Dyson's official online storefront as well as other retail channels.
Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash + Dry: Hybrid Cleaning at a Mid-Range Price
Positioned in the middle of the lineup at $700, the Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash + Dry is a dual-function vacuum-mop hybrid that delivers 21,000 Pa of suction power. At roughly half the price of the flagship tier, the R2 incorporates triangular mopping pads designed to reach into tight floor corners during wet cleaning cycles. Alongside its lidar navigation suite and Twin-Capture hardware, this model balances heavy debris pickup with active floor washing. However, its distribution is restricted: the R2 is being sold exclusively through Costco, meaning shoppers must maintain an active Costco membership to acquire the unit.
Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV: Premium AI and Heavy Suction
Sitting at the top of the range is the $1,200 Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, engineered for comprehensive deep cleaning. To tackle stubborn floor stains that previous optical systems struggled to pinpoint, the R3 integrates a specialized ultraviolet light system to illuminate and locate floor blemishes. Dyson has paired this optical tracking with an on-board AI engine capable of recognizing up to 200 distinct household substances, prompting the machine to scrub targeted areas repeatedly until soil is eliminated. Suction performance is upgraded to 30,000 Pa, representing the highest power output in the series. The R3 is widely available via Dyson's direct web store and standard retail outlets.
