A harrowing video from Sonipat, Haryana, has sent shockwaves through social media, revealing a shocking level of cruelty inflicted upon a young child. The footage shows individuals subjecting the minor to severe physical abuse, causing him to weep and scream in agony. Despite the victim repeatedly pleading for his mother to be called, the perpetrators showed no mercy and continued their assault. The incident reportedly occurred at the Housing Board Market in Sector 15 of Sonipat.
Third-degree torture and electric shocks
The visual evidence captures actions that mirror brutal punishment. Two individuals are seen twisting the child’s limbs and striking him repeatedly. In a display of extreme cruelty, the attackers threw the child to the ground and sat on him to restrain him. The situation escalated further when they used a capacitor to deliver electric shocks to the child. The victim’s desperate cries for his mother went unheeded by the tormentors. An unidentified witness secretly recorded the entire ordeal from a rooftop, and the video has since gone viral online.
Motivated by theft suspicions
According to preliminary details, the entire incident was triggered by a suspicion. The shopkeeper, who operates an electrical repair business, and his son believed that the child had stolen a motorcycle battery. Based on this mere suspicion, they took the law into their own hands and initiated a campaign of torture. The brutal beating continued for a significant duration as the child suffered in distress.
Police stance and alleged settlement
Following the emergence of the incident, reports suggest that an intervention by a local leader led to an informal settlement between the two parties involved. However, the identity of the person who facilitated this compromise remains undisclosed. Regarding the official status of the case, Savit Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 27 in Sonipat, stated that the police have not received any formal complaints from either party involved in the matter.
