Three people were killed and three others left seriously injured late at night after a car rammed into a parked vehicle on the Delhi-Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway that runs through Haryana's Nuh district. Police reached the spot, took the bodies into custody and began investigating the case.
Collision at channel number-47
According to available details, a Maruti Fronx car travelling from Delhi towards Alwar collided head-on with a vehicle that was already parked at channel number-47 of the expressway, near Banarsi Rakba under the jurisdiction of Nagina police station. The impact was so severe that two men and a woman travelling in the car died on the spot, while three other occupants suffered serious injuries. The crash, which happened under the cover of night, sent shockwaves through the surrounding area.
Police rush in, injured rushed to hospital
As soon as word of the crash spread, a police team from Nagina police station reached the site and began relief and rescue work. The bodies of the three deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination to the Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Medical College Hospital in Nalhar, while the injured have been admitted to hospital for treatment. The identities of both the deceased and the injured have not yet been made public. Police are working to determine the exact cause of the crash and are proceeding with further legal action to establish the circumstances in which the collision took place.
A stretch that has repeatedly made headlines for accidents
The expressway, which cuts through the middle of Nuh district, has been in the news for a string of accidents over recent months. The district administration and police have periodically run awareness drives on following traffic rules and have also taken action against vehicles parked illegally along the roadside. Despite these efforts, accidents on this stretch have shown no sign of slowing down. Over-speeding, drivers losing control of their vehicles, and vehicles parked illegally on the roadside are cited as the leading causes behind most crashes on this expressway. The latest incident has renewed calls for motorists using this route at night to exercise extra caution.
