Popular Haryanvi singer Sudesh Rohila, based in Kaithal, Haryana, has received severe threats under the name of the Lawrence gang, triggering panic and police intervention. The threats were sent via WhatsApp to her personal mobile number, demanding an extortion amount of two lakhs rupees and warning of fatal consequences if the demand is not met. The incident has drawn significant attention given the singer's recent artistic rivalry and public creative outputs.
WhatsApp Threats and Extortion Demand
The threatening messages sent to Sudesh Rohila's WhatsApp stated that the sender was Ankit speaking from the Lawrence group. The message explicitly demanded two lakhs rupees quietly within a strict two-day deadline, failing which she would face a bullet. The sender further taunted that blocking the number or approaching the police would not help and that a specific timeframe had been allotted. The text concluded with the phrases 'Jai Balkari' and 'Lawrence Group'.
Connection to Rapper Badshah Song Controversy
The threats are believed to be linked to recent musical controversies. Amid an ongoing debate surrounding pseudo-spiritualism, Sudesh had released a song titled 'Kheer Pakhandiya Ki' roughly fifteen days prior. Furthermore, in response to rapper Badshah's song 'Tatiri', which was released on March 1, 2026, Sudesh released a counter-track titled 'Boli A Tatiri' on March 9. Although rapper Badshah's song faced a subsequent ban, the rivalry drew considerable public notice.
Formal Complaint to Kaithal Superintendent of Police
Disturbed by the menacing messages, singer Sudesh Rohila visited Kaithal Superintendent of Police Manpreet Singh to submit a formal complaint and demand immediate security cover. She stated that multiple threatening texts were sent from an unknown number by someone claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, reiterating the demand for two lakhs rupees within forty-eight hours.
Ongoing Police Investigation and Technical Tracking
Following the formal complaint, local law enforcement authorities have initiated a comprehensive probe into the matter. Police officials stated that the entire situation is being thoroughly investigated, and technical teams are currently tracking the location and digital footprint of the mobile number used to issue the threats to identify and apprehend the culprit.
