In a swift operation in Haryana's Sonipat district, law enforcement officers apprehended two armed operatives associated with the notorious Nandu gang following a fierce shootout near Harsana village. The high-stakes confrontation unfolded shortly after the criminal duo attempted to extort Rs 2 crore from a local resident named Deepak, who resides in Kharkhoda, and subsequently opened fire at his commercial premises located on Khanda Road.
Extortion Demand and Firing Incident
According to official details surrounding the case, the criminals initially contacted Deepak to demand the massive ransom amount specifically in the name of the Nandu criminal syndicate. Threatening him with dire consequences and death if the funds were not delivered immediately, the perpetrators escalated their violent attempt within thirty minutes of the telephone threat. Riding an unnumbered motorcycle, the two men arrived directly at Deepak's private office situated along Khanda Road and discharged multiple gunshots at the building structure before attempting a rapid escape from the locality.
Police Pursuit and Encounter Details
Following the sudden shooting incident on Khanda Road, members of the Special Anti Gangster Unit launched an immediate field pursuit based on tactical tracking and local intelligence. Police units managed to successfully corner the fleeing suspects near Harsana village. When surrounded by the armed law enforcement personnel, the criminals chose to open fire directly at the officers in an attempt to breach the police cordon, which forced the police personnel to retaliate with targeted defensive gunfire.
