Preparations for Diwali are in full swing in Kurukshetra, with bustling markets and festive enthusiasm visible everywhere. This year, the festival involves the worship of eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi. President-awarded astrologer Pandit Prem Kumar Sharma has provided detailed insights into the precise timings and auspicious muhurat for conducting the evening rituals.
Auspicious Muhurat For Lakshmi-Ganesh Worship
According to astrologer Pandit Prem Kumar Sharma, the auspicious muhurat for worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on Diwali will last from 5:52 PM to 7:47 PM. This year, the festival falls on a Sunday. At sunrise, the Chaturdashi tithi will prevail, while the Amavasya tithi will commence at 11:28 AM. In Kurukshetra, the special evening window between 5:52 PM and 7:47 PM is designated as the primary time for the Lakshmi pujan.
Worshiping The Eight Forms Of Goddess Lakshmi
Pandit Prem Kumar Sharma noted that worshiping Lord Vishnu alongside Goddess Lakshmi holds special significance on Diwali. While Goddess Lakshmi symbolizes wealth and prosperity, Lord Vishnu inspires humanity to follow righteousness and moral paths. During the festival, devotees worship eight distinct manifestations of Goddess Lakshmi, which include Vidya Lakshmi, Saubhagya Lakshmi, Satya Lakshmi, Bhoga Lakshmi, and Yoga Lakshmi. Additionally, rituals include the veneration of Lord Ganesh, Kubera, and Goddess Saraswati.
Threshold Worship And Account Book Blessings
The celebration also places great importance on worshiping the main entrance of the house, known as Dehri Vinayak, drawing auspicious swastikas, and blessing account ledgers. Businessmen perform rituals on their account books, pens, and weighing scales to pray for commercial growth and prosperity in the coming year. Meanwhile, individuals associated with construction work will offer prayers to Lord Vishwakarma on Bhai Dooj.
