A severe road accident occurred on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Kharkhoda in the Sonipat district of Haryana. An Eco car carrying agricultural workers collided violently with a truck near Gopalpur village. The impact of the crash destroyed the vehicle, resulting in the deaths of three laborers on the spot and leaving nine others injured.
Purpose of Journey and Crash Details
All the workers traveling in the vehicle belonged to the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. They were heading toward Jhajjar in Haryana to work in the millet harvesting season. As they reached near Gopalpur village on the expressway, their vehicle crashed into a truck. The severity of the collision was such that rescue personnel had to cut open sections of the damaged car to extricate one of the bodies.
Medical Care and Police Investigation
Among the three deceased laborers, one has been identified as Ram Naresh, a resident of Badepura village in Uttar Pradesh, while authorities are working to identify the remaining two victims. Out of the nine injured passengers, five individuals suffered critical injuries and were referred to PGIMS Rohtak for advanced medical treatment. The remaining four injured workers are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kharkhoda. Officers from the Kharkhoda police station arrived at the scene, seized the bodies, and sent them to Sonipat for post-mortem examination as part of an ongoing investigation into the crash.
