The hilly district of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh witnessed two separate tragic road accidents on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving five others seriously injured. The first incident occurred near Pulghrat close to the Suketi rivulet in Mandi city, while the second mishap took place near Mahunag in the Karsog sub-division. Emergency services and local police were dispatched to both locations promptly, launching relief operations with the assistance of residents.
Vehicle Plunges into Suketi Rivulet Near Pulghrat
The first major crash transpired near Pulghrat on the outskirts of Mandi town. According to details, a passenger car lost control and plunged directly into the deep Suketi rivulet. Hearing the loud impact, nearby residents rushed toward the stream and initiated immediate rescue efforts to pull the victims out of the damaged vehicle. Tragically, a young man hailing from Mandi succumbed to his injuries in the incident, while three other occupants sustained severe injuries. The injured individuals were quickly rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Car Overturns in Karsog, One Fatal Incident Reported
Earlier on Wednesday morning, another tragic accident unfolded near the Mahunag area of Karsog. A car suddenly lost control and flipped over on the main road. The sudden crash sent shockwaves throughout the local community. Nearby villagers hurried to the spot upon hearing the commotion and managed to pull out the trapped passengers from the overturned vehicle. Mohan Singh Mehran tragically lost his life in the mishap, while Vineet and Chudamani were critically injured. Both surviving victims were transported via ambulance to the nearest hospital for urgent medical attention.
Police Launch Detailed Investigation Into Causes
Following notifications about the incidents, police personnel were dispatched to both accident sites to inspect the scenes and clear the traffic. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Karsog, Chand Kishore, formally confirmed the details of the Karsog crash, stating that one person died and two others were injured. Law enforcement authorities have registered cases regarding the incidents and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accidents, including potential factors such as overspeeding, mechanical failures, or treacherous road conditions.
