Rail passengers travelling through Jamshedpur are in for a difficult stretch over the next four and a half months. South Eastern Railway has cleared major development work on the up and down lines between Kansbahal and Dharuadihi stations under the Chakradharpur rail division. To strengthen the infrastructure along this route, the railway is taking a mega block that will run from July 3 right through to November 17.
According to the official railway order, the work will continue for roughly four and a half months. Because of it, 9 pairs of trains, a total of 18 passenger services that run along this route, will be cancelled every Friday and Tuesday. In addition, two trains will be short terminated, that is partially cancelled, while two others will be run on a diverted route.
Trains Affected Every Tuesday and Friday

- Hyderabad-Raxaul-Hyderabad Express
- Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Express

- Tatanagar-Itwari-Tatanagar Express
- Tatanagar-Hatia-Tatanagar Express
- Howrah-Titlagarh-Howrah Ispat Express
- Rourkela-Jagdalpur-Rourkela Express
Passengers May Face Major Inconvenience
This long block, stretching from July into the middle of November, could turn into a serious headache for anyone who travels along this route. With trains off the rails twice a week, both daily commuters and long-distance travellers will feel the pinch.
