Festive fervour has gripped Jamshedpur as preparations for Vishwakarma Puja kick off with vibrant markets ready to welcome buyers. Local shops are fully stocked with an array of decorative items designed to give vehicles a stunning makeover for the auspicious day. Alongside conventional floral arrangements, this year's markets are introducing unique items that have quickly become the talk of the town among vehicle owners.
Punjabi Parandas Lead Vehicle Decoration Trends
The biggest center of attraction for vehicle styling this season is the traditional Punjabi paranda, typically used for styling hair, which has now found a creative new purpose in automotive decor. In addition to this unique trend, shops are offering special garlands featuring images of Baba Vishwakarma, marigold strings, artificial flower chains, bright jhumkas, decorative bells, ribbons, fringes, and various hanging accessories. Merchants have curated their collections to cater to all vehicle sizes and customer budgets.
High Demand for Unique Styling Items
Vehicle owners are eagerly picking up items that help their cars and trucks stand out on the road. Popular choices include floral fringes for the front grille, decorative centerpieces bearing the deity's image, and compact flower strings for windscreens and bonnets. For trucks and heavy commercial transport, vendors have stocked extra-long flower garlands paired with gleaming jhumkas and heavy hanging ornaments to ensure a grand and eye-catching appearance.
Stall Owners Report Strong Customer Turnout
Local vendor Mukesh notes that consumer enthusiasm for Vishwakarma Puja is running very high this year, with steady inquiries and purchases keeping shopkeepers busy. Customers are exploring a mix of classic items and brand-new designs, with the Punjabi paranda and novel floral patterns emerging as the absolute favorites among the buyers visiting the market.
Puja Date and Auspicious Timings
The annual festival involves the mandatory worship and reverence of machinery, tools, and all forms of transport as a mark of respect to the divine architect. Vehicle owners spend the day cleaning and blessing their rides. This year, Vishwakarma Puja falls on Thursday, September 17. The auspicious muhurat for conducting the rituals spans from 7:58 AM to 12:40 PM, with the specific Abhijit muhurat noted between 11:51 AM and 12:40 PM, though devotees often perform the ceremonies according to their convenience throughout the day.
