Ranchi: As the CID's investigation into the rigging of competitive examinations in Jharkhand progresses, the intricate links connecting coaching operators, exam management personnel, and candidates are gradually coming to light. The investigative agency has apprehended two additional accused individuals in the ongoing probe. One of the arrested suspects is a coaching institute director who allegedly claimed he could secure candidates' passing through backchannel arrangements in the JPSC examination, while the other was nabbed for allegedly making candidates memorize answers inside a hotel room ahead of the JSSC CGL examination. With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals apprehended in the case has climbed to 33. This unfolding network indicates that the conspiracy extends far beyond simple paper leaks and OMR sheet tampering, pointing toward a much larger operation.
Shivangan Coaching Director Sanjit Arrested
The CID arrested Sanjit Kumar, the director of Ranchi-based Shivangan Coaching Institute, in connection with irregularities, paper leaks, and OMR sheet tampering tied to the JPSC examination. The investigating agency had previously raided the premises of this coaching institute. According to the findings, Sanjit Kumar used to boast about helping candidates clear the exam and extorted money under the guise of guaranteeing selection. The CID discovered that he maintained direct contacts with Abhay Tiwari, the marketing manager of TDPL (the agency linked to exam conduct), and Rambir Singh, the director of the agency. During interrogation, Abhay Tiwari provided crucial disclosures regarding Sanjit's operations. The CID is now working to uncover the exact number of candidates Sanjit extorted money from, how much cash changed hands, how many people were promised benefits, and who else operated within this illicit network.
Accused Held for Making Candidates Memorize Answers in Asansol Hotel
The second arrest stems from the JSSC CGL examination case, where the CID apprehended Dilip Kumar पासवान. He is accused of gathering four to five candidates at a hotel in Asansol, West Bengal, and forcing them to memorize examination answers. Investigations revealed that Dilip extracted substantial sums of money from the aspirants in exchange for this service. Having uncovered concrete financial evidence and transaction records, the CID summoned him to Ranchi for questioning. Upon failing to provide satisfactory explanations during the interrogation, he was placed under arrest. Reports indicate that Dilip Kumar Paswan had currently been residing in West Bengal.
Thirty-Three Arrests Made in the Second Phase of Crackdown
This ongoing crackdown by the CID into the irregularities surrounding the JPSC and JSSC CGL examinations marks the second phase of their operations. A cumulative total of 33 suspects have now been placed behind bars. Out of these, 21 accused are linked to the JPSC irregularities, while 12 individuals have been arrested in connection with the JSSC CGL case. The CID investigation remains very much active, and the agency suspects that numerous other participants may be involved in the syndicate. The primary focus of the probe currently centers on tracing money trails, identifying who reached out to candidates, establishing links with exam management personnel, and dismantling the entire fixing apparatus. Further arrests are anticipated in the near future.
