A unique initiative has been launched inside a park in Aara, Bihar, to provide relief from intense summer heat. A specially designed cafeteria here is being hailed as the state's first natural AC cafeteria, delivering cooling through completely natural methods without relying on conventional air conditioners.
The Natural Combination of Clay and Water
This cafeteria relies on the fundamental natural properties of clay and water. Its structure features a large grill-like framework fitted with numerous clay glasses. Water is continuously sprinkled over these clay glasses through pipes, and a cooler is positioned right behind the grill.
How the Evaporative Cooling Works
When clay, flowing water, and air interact, the evaporation of water on the clay surface causes the surrounding air to drop in temperature. The cooler installed behind the setup pushes this chilled air directly into the interior of the cafeteria, creating a much cooler environment compared to the outside weather.
Earthy Aroma and Rustic Experience
Using clay introduces a pleasant, natural aroma into the atmosphere. Alongside offering relief from the heat, this cafeteria immerses visitors in a rustic experience that connects them directly to rural roots and traditional elements.
The Vision of Young Engineer Prashant
The concept behind this unique cafeteria comes from young engineer Prashant. He notes that the model was created to replace traditional AC systems by utilizing local, natural resources to offer people relief while consuming minimal energy.

This experiment could prove exceptionally useful for locations where seating is needed for large crowds, but installing expensive air conditioners is unfeasible. The natural AC cafeteria in the Aara park has rapidly turned into a major attraction, drawing people seeking respite from the heat through this indigenous blend of earth, water, and breeze.
