Parliament has granted approval to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, following its passage in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The legislation was earlier approved by the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Parliamentarians from the Opposition's INDIA alliance staged a walkout prior to the response delivered by Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh, which concluded a discussion lasting seven hours. The Upper House took up the measure after the administration included it as a supplementary item on the agenda.
