Let us take a look at the major headlines defining the day across these two states.

Severe Administrative Action Against Bhopal Medical Stores

In Bhopal, the Food and Drug Administration has launched a massive crackdown against medical stores failing to adhere to regulatory norms. During a recent inspection of 32 medical outlets, multiple irregularities were identified, prompting immediate punitive measures. The authorities have completely revoked the licenses of 3 pharmacies, while 8 other establishments face license suspension. Furthermore, show-cause notices have been issued to 21 store owners regarding their operational lapses.

The primary reason for these actions was the sale of medicines without the presence of a qualified pharmacist. Collector Priyank Mishra has instructed officials to continue conducting routine inspections and to take strict disciplinary action against any entity found breaking the law. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Manish Sharma emphasized that drugs under the Schedule H and H1 categories must strictly be sold only upon the production of a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.

Cheetahs Escape Kuno National Park to Hunt

Incidents of cheetahs venturing out of the Kuno National Park into human settlements continue to persist in the Sheopur district. Recently, two cheetahs managed to leave the protected area and reached the nearby Dhundhe Kheda village. They attacked local livestock, successfully hunting calves kept in enclosures. This incident has sparked fear among the residents. A video captured by locals, showing the cheetahs hunting, has gone viral on social media. Since Dhundhe Kheda is located in immediate proximity to the Kuno National Park, frequent movement of wild animals is a common concern, keeping the local villagers in a state of constant alarm regarding their safety.

What this means for you

Across India: Stricter regulations on pharmaceutical sales mean patients may find it increasingly difficult to purchase restricted drugs without a valid doctor's prescription.

In Madhya Pradesh: Residents in Bhopal should ensure they carry a valid doctor's prescription when purchasing medicines from local pharmacies.
