The Forest Department has apprehended two suspects in the Balaghat region following an investigation into the illegal poaching of a bear. The incident, which took place within the Khairlanji Forest Range, came to light after the dismembered remains of a bear were discovered in a well on a farm owned by a farmer named Jialal on July 4th. Initial investigations indicate that the bear was accidentally electrocuted by traps originally set to poach wild boars. The suspects allegedly removed the bear's claws and heart, possibly for tantric rituals, before dumping the remains. While two individuals are now under arrest and facing charges under the Wildlife Protection Act, authorities are still searching for two other suspects who managed to evade capture.

Fatal Road Accident on Maihar-Katni Road
A tragic accident occurred on the Maihar-Katni highway near Pori on Wednesday night, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Natthu Yadav. A bus operated by Sanjay Travels, en route from Satna to Hyderabad, had been pulled over on the side of the road due to a flat tire. While the crew was busy with repairs, many passengers had stepped off the vehicle, and Yadav was standing directly in front of the bus. An speeding truck slammed into the rear of the stationary bus, pushing it forward by nearly 10 meters and trapping Yadav under its wheels. The impact proved fatal, and four other passengers sustained injuries. Following the incident, Superintendent of Police Avadhesh Pratap Singh dispatched a police unit and an ambulance to the scene. The body was moved to the Civil Hospital in Maihar, and the police have initiated an investigation to locate the truck driver.
Surge in Snakebite Cases in Gwalior
Gwalior is facing a significant health challenge as the onset of the monsoon has led to a sharp rise in snakebite incidents. In the last 24 hours alone, 30 people have reported being bitten. The situation at Jayarogya Hospital has become critical, with management sending a formal request to the Central Medicine department for an urgent supply of additional anti-snake venom injections. Of the 30 patients admitted, six are currently in the ICU receiving intensive care due to their serious condition.
Expansion of EV Charging Network in Chhattisgarh

New directives have been issued to identify suitable locations for charging stations across every district in the state. To improve the user experience, the administration plans to launch a unified app, which will spare consumers from the inconvenience of using multiple separate platforms. Additionally, the process for obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOC) for these stations will be expedited. These initiatives are set to receive financial backing under the PM E-Drive scheme.
