Indian Railways has officially announced the regular service of the 17631/17632 Nanded-Tanakpur-Nanded Weekly Express to provide better connectivity for commuters. The regular service schedule commences on July 12, with the train departing from Nanded every Sunday and beginning its return leg from Tanakpur every Tuesday, starting July 14, 2026. Alongside the launch of these regular trips, the railway authorities have revised the arrival and departure timings at several significant stations along the route.
Route and Operational Schedule
The 17631 Nanded-Tanakpur Weekly Express is scheduled to depart from Nanded at 11:40 PM every Sunday. The train's journey passes through Purna, Akola, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamalapati, Bina, and Lalitpur. It then proceeds to reach stations including Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Gwalior, Dholpur, Agra Cantt, and Mathura Junction. Continuing further through Kasganj, Badaun, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, and Khatima, the train reaches Tanakpur at 5:55 AM on the third day. Notably, the stoppage timings have been modified at Gwalior, Agra Cantt, and Mathura Junction.
Return Journey Details
For the return trip, the 17632 Tanakpur-Nanded Weekly Express departs from Tanakpur at 9:00 AM every Tuesday. The route covers Khatima, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Kasganj, Mathura Junction, Agra Cantt, Dholpur, Gwalior, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Lalitpur, Bina, Rani Kamalapati, Itarsi, Khandwa, Akola, and Purna. The train is scheduled to arrive at Nanded at 4:30 PM the following day. Similar to the outbound journey, adjustments have been made to the timing at Jhansi, Agra Cantt, and Mathura Junction.
Composition and Amenities
To ensure passenger comfort, the train will operate with a total of 21 coaches. The composition includes 2 AC Second Class coaches, 4 AC Third Class coaches, and 8 Sleeper class coaches. Additionally, the train features 4 General Second Class coaches, 1 pantry car, 1 LSLRD, and 1 generator-cum-luggage van. Officials stated that this regular operation will provide substantial relief to travelers moving between the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
