The regional meteorological center in Bhopal has placed four key districts on high alert. Guna, Shivpuri, Sagar, and Dindori are under an orange alert. These regions are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall, with precipitation levels ranging between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm. Along with the torrential rain, these areas are likely to experience strong gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, accompanied by frequent thunder and lightning. For the rest of the state, a yellow alert remains active.

Apart from the four districts under orange alert, several other areas are preparing for significant downpours. The weather department has warned of heavy rains in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Dhar, Barwani, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, and Damoh. These locations are expected to record rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm. Residents in these parts should also expect lightning strikes and strong winds. In all other remaining districts, winds are anticipated to reach speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, alongside active thunderstorm conditions.

- Stay indoors during active thunderstorms. If caught outside, avoid taking shelter under tall trees or metal power lines.
- Unplug valuable electronic appliances from sockets to protect them from high-voltage surges caused by lightning.
- Avoid working in open fields, agricultural lands, or construction zones during active storms. Keep a safe distance from loose wires and fragile structures.
- While driving, reduce your speed considerably and maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel to prevent slipping on wet roads.
- Avoid leaning against concrete walls or lying on concrete floors, as they can conduct electrical charges from lightning strikes.
Guidelines for Livestock and Animal Protection
Farmers and animal keepers must also take active steps to ensure the safety of their livestock during this period of turbulent weather
- Do not leave cattle or other animals in open fields, near ponds, rivers, or active water bodies.
- Ensure all livestock are moved into secure, well-covered shelters during nighttime.
- Avoid letting animals graze in open lands during intense afternoon heat or brewing storms.
- Provide adequate shade and clean drinking water for all animals within their shelters.
- Never tie animals under trees during active lightning storms or heavy squalls, as trees are highly vulnerable to lightning strikes.
