A chilling case has emerged from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh, where a mystery surrounding a man missing for nearly three months was finally solved through his own grave. The disappearance of the youth from the Govindgarh police station area led authorities to uncover a grim conspiracy, the roots of which were traced back to the Rampur Baghelan police station area in Satna district.
From Disappearance to Discovery
Vipin Yadav, the deceased, had been missing since March 26, 2026. His worried family had searched extensively for him and even filed a missing person report with the local police, but no leads were found for a long time. Investigators continued their efforts, eventually turning to digital evidence. By tracking the location of the victim's mobile phone, the police discovered that his last active signal was in Tikar village, located within the Govindgarh police jurisdiction.
A Fatal Affair
The investigation revealed that on the day he vanished, Vipin had left his home in the company of his friend, Sunil Kushwaha. Suspecting foul play, the police apprehended Sunil, a resident of Tikar village. During interrogation, Sunil confessed to murdering Vipin with the help of his associates and subsequently burying the body near a canal to conceal the crime. After coordinating with the Govindgarh police, the Rampur Baghelan authorities exhumed the remains three months later, which had since decomposed into a skeleton. The primary motive behind this heinous act appears to be an illicit affair between the victim’s wife, Anchal, and the accused, Sunil, who wanted to eliminate the obstacle in their path.
Evidence of Constant Contact
Further investigation by the police uncovered that Anchal and Sunil had been in an active relationship for the past six months. Records indicate they were in constant touch, frequently logging up to 30 long phone conversations per day. The accused, Sunil, had previously come to the attention of the police in Govindgarh due to an unrelated assault case, which provided the crucial link for authorities to track him down. Currently, the remains recovered from the grave have been transported to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Law enforcement officials stated that further legal action will be initiated immediately upon receipt of the final autopsy report.
