A heartbreaking accident has shaken the Berasia area of Madhya Pradesh, where a Scorpio vehicle ran over a three-year-old girl, killing her on the spot. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, leaving residents in the area deeply disturbed.
According to police, the accident took place in Lalariya village under the Berasia police station area. The child had come to stay at her maternal grandparents' home. On the day of the accident, she had stepped out near the house with a few other children to buy ice cream when a speeding Scorpio hit her. Both her parents are said to be government school teachers, deepening the tragedy for the family.
What the CCTV Footage Shows
The CCTV camera installed in the area recorded the entire incident. The footage shows the girl sitting and playing by the roadside when the driver moved the vehicle forward, and within moments she came under its wheels. Acting swiftly after the accident, police seized the accused's Scorpio vehicle. Officers said the driver has been identified and will be arrested soon.
Anger in the Area, Police Register a Case
Immediately after the accident, local residents tried to rush the girl to hospital, but it was too late. Police and administrative officials reached the spot as soon as they were informed and brought the situation under control. The Berasia police station has registered a case in connection with the incident. The tragedy has caused outrage across Berasia and the surrounding areas, with residents raising questions about road safety and the safety of children. The girl's family is in mourning, while police are awaiting further investigation and the postmortem report.
Station House Officer Explains How the Accident Happened
Berasia police station in-charge Virendra Kumar Sen said the three-year-old girl was staying with her maternal grandparents in the Juna Khan Lalariya area. He said there is a shop belonging to Ikka Seth right opposite the police outpost, and nearby is the house of a family referred to as PCS. On the day of the incident, two or three children had gone out from there to buy ice cream. During this, the girl, for some reason, came directly in front of the vehicle. According to Sen, the driver was driving the Scorpio carelessly and ran over the girl, killing her on the spot. He added that both the girl's parents are government teachers, her father working as a teacher in Jharia and her mother serving as a government teacher in Bachiya. Sen confirmed that the vehicle has been seized, the accused driver has been identified, and he will be arrested soon, with a case being registered against him.
