Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh held a high-level meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the latter's official residence in New Delhi on Thursday. The discussion centered on reviewing administrative steps underway to re-establish normalcy, address public grievances, and stabilise conditions across the state. The Chief Minister formally requested sustained backing and guidance from the central government to navigate current hurdles.
Restoration of Regional Transport Connectivity
During the deliberations, the Chief Minister underscored the recent resumption of the interstate bus transit link covering Imphal, Dimapur, and Guwahati. He noted that operationalising this public transport route has brought substantial logistical relief to citizens, drastically enhancing inter-district connectivity and easing the movement of daily commuters and essential transit in the region.

Elaborating on the bilateral discussion, Khemchand Singh shared updates on social media regarding his interaction with the Union Home Minister. He stated that he briefed the leadership on the comprehensive package of initiatives enacted by the state administration to foster lasting peace, while appealing to the Centre for continuous institutional assistance to tide over existing difficulties.
Union Home Minister Plans State Visit This Month
Khemchand Singh also renewed his invitation for Amit Shah to undertake an official visit to Manipur. The Union Home Minister accepted the request, confirming his intention to travel to the state later in the month. According to the state government, Shah listened closely to the briefing, commended the ongoing regional administrative efforts, and reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to supporting stability, development, and local aspirations.
