Public sector oil enterprise Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited has officially announced an interim dividend for its investors, setting the payout at Rs 25 per equity share. The announcement comes as domestic Indian companies roll out their corporate earnings and reward updates for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27. Investor interest in the state-owned refiner has heightened following the official confirmation of the record date.
Details Of The Interim Dividend Announcement
Chennai Petroleum Corporation, a key subsidiary operating under Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), confirmed the financial reward following a meeting of its board of directors held on October 22. In its formal regulatory communication to stock exchanges on October 22, the company stated that the board approved an interim dividend distribution for the ongoing financial year 2026-27. Under this corporate action, the board declared a payout of 250 percent, translating to Rs 25 for every equity share having a face value of Rs 10.
Important Dates And Eligibility Criteria For Investors
The company has fixed Friday, October 30 as the official record date to determine eligible shareholders for this corporate action. As per standard market regulations, the stock will trade ex-dividend starting October 30. Consequently, individuals looking to benefit from this Rs 25 payout must complete their share purchases by Wednesday, October 29 at the latest. Buying stock on or after the ex-dividend date disqualifies investors from receiving the specified payout. Eligible equity holders can expect the payout credited into their registered bank accounts on or before November 21. Notably, this payout follows a substantial dividend distribution of Rs 54 per share previously executed by the refiner in August 2026.
