Force Motors, a name long associated with India's commercial vehicle business, is set to reward its shareholders with a dividend of Rs 50 per share for the financial year 2025-26, and the window to lock in that payout is now down to just a couple of trading days. The company had already confirmed this payout back in April 2026, when it announced its annual results for the year gone by.
Ten rupees more than what shareholders got last year
Each Force Motors share carries a face value of Rs 10, which means this year's Rs 50 payout translates to 500 percent of face value. A year earlier, for FY 2024-25, the company had paid its shareholders Rs 40 per share, so this year's dividend is Rs 10 higher than the previous round. The record date for this larger payout was fixed and announced well ahead of time, giving both existing shareholders and prospective buyers enough notice to plan their move.
Record date is September 9, last date to buy is September 8
Force Motors shares will start trading ex-dividend from Wednesday, September 9. Under standard stock market rules, once a stock turns ex-dividend, shares bought on or after that date do not carry entitlement to that round's payout. To actually qualify for the dividend, an investor needs to have the shares credited to their account one trading day ahead of the record date. In practice, that means Tuesday, September 8 is the last day to buy into Force Motors and still receive the Rs 50 per share dividend; anyone purchasing the stock from Wednesday onward will miss out on this financial year's payout.
From buses to safari vehicles, a wide commercial line-up
Force Motors is best known as a manufacturer and seller of commercial vehicles. Its product range includes the Traveller, Urbania, Trax, Monobus and Gurkha. Beyond these regular models, the company also builds specially configured vehicles for police departments, schools, banks and jungle safari operators, a niche segment that sets it apart from typical passenger vehicle makers and keeps it catering to both private buyers and institutional customers.
