Bullion has experienced a notable price correction after racing to an all-time high in January 2026. Despite this sharp retreat from its January peak, the precious metal remains up by 5.26% overall in 2026 so far. Analysts see a potential upside of nearly 23% for the metal under its most optimistic bull case scenario. Factors such as labour market softness, a gentle stance on repo rates from the US Federal Reserve, and physical supply tightness in silver are positioned to reinforce a strong case for gold, according to Monarch Networth Capital.
Base Case and Valuation Projections
At the same time, the brokerage report outlines a 55% probability that gold will finish the year settling between $4,300 and $4,700 per ounce. Silver is projected to land in the $70 to $85 per ounce range by the conclusion of 2026 under this base case assumption. This foundational outlook assumes that the US Federal Reserve maintains interest rates steady through September, global energy costs normalise, real yields level off, and international central banks sustain their purchasing pace at roughly 250 tonnes per quarter.
Bull and Bear Case Scenarios
Gold rates could push higher toward $5,000 to $5,600 per ounce, while silver prices might swing between $95 and $120 per ounce in the bull case scenario, which carries a 25% probability of occurrence based on the Monarch Networth Capital assessment. This outcome could materialize if persistent labor market weakness forces the Federal Reserve to ease repo rates, real yields roll over, institutional capital reallocates back into precious metals, and supply tightness for physical silver returns to the market.
Conversely, in the bear case scenario, gold is projected to range between $3,400 and $3,900 per ounce, with silver dipping to $45 to $55 per ounce if the Federal Reserve implements a rate hike in September, oil prices drop further, and disinflation transitions directly into weak consumer demand. The primary headwind for the yellow metal remains the 10-year TIPS real yield, which sits at 2.41% and continues to pose a formidable competing yield against non-yielding assets like gold.
Silver Market Dynamics and Ratio
Silver captured immense market attention at the start of 2026, with the white metal surging past $121 per troy ounce in January. This explosive rally was succeeded by a steep price crash in February following its historic peak. Given the substantial correction in silver values, market conditions suggest that physical tightness could amplify upward momentum if underlying industrial and retail demand picks up steam, as noted by the brokerage.
Furthermore, the gold-silver ratio has recovered its balance, shifting upward from 46x during the January peak to roughly 69x currently, bringing it close to its 21st-century average. Monarch PMS utilizes 60x as the benchmark figure for its operational model. This shift indicates that silver has surrendered much of its earlier outperformance and currently trades at a relative discount compared to gold.
