The Central Industrial Security Force has achieved a significant milestone in national defense with the graduation of its first all-women Quick Reaction Team unit. Following a grand passing out parade conducted on July 28, 2026, female commandos trained at the 10th Reserve Battalion located in Bengaluru completed their intensive preparation. This graduation marks a shift toward integrating female personnel into high-risk security roles across sensitive installations.
Specialized Combat and Tactical Skills
The rigorous curriculum was specifically structured to transition commandos beyond conventional security duties into specialized tactical operations. During their training regime, the all-women squad received focused instruction in close-quarter battle techniques, tactical maneuvering, and strategies for navigating hostile environments. Additionally, the personnel underwent rigorous preparation for counter-terrorism operations, ensuring full readiness to neutralize armed threats and mitigate high-stakes emergency situations efficiently.
Bengaluru Hub Declared Official QRT Centre
Concurrent with the graduation ceremony, official recognition was granted to the venue housing the battalion. The 10th Reserve Battalion facility in Bengaluru has now been formally designated as the primary Women QRT Training Centre for the Central Industrial Security Force. This institutional shift establishes a permanent framework for training future cohorts of female personnel in specialized combat and quick-response measures.
Leadership and Strategic Vision
Highlighting the strategic importance of this development, CISF ADG for the Airport Sector, Binita Thakur, emphasized the evolving responsibilities of women in defense.
"Women in the country's security architecture are no longer limited to supportive roles, but are actively leading operations from the front," stated Binita Thakur.
She further remarked that the initiative represents far more than a routine instructional program, serving instead as a transformative chapter for the expanding presence of female officers in safeguarding internal security.
