Addressing a major national and state-level gathering organised to commemorate the completion of his 25 years in public service, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented an ambitious roadmap for the country's collective future. Speaking at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha, held as part of the Seva Jyoti Yatra, he emphasised that the immense demographic strength of the country provides an answer to every structural hurdle. Highlighting global recognition in aviation, he noted that while the world currently discusses the skill of Indian pilots, a day will inevitably arrive when global aviation talks about commercial aircraft made right here in India.
Visionary Governance and Domestic Aviation Ambitions
Outlining the trajectory required to build domestic manufacturing capabilities in aerospace, it was stressed that achieving such monumental goals demands steady perseverance and forward-looking economic policies. While acknowledging the scale of operational and economic hurdles in developing high-tech machinery, the address firmly noted that a nation of 140 crore people possesses an equal number of solutions. The push to transition from training aviation personnel to manufacturing commercial aircraft reflects a broader strategic pivot toward high-value industrial production on the world stage.
Spiritual Foundations and Historical Ideals
Connecting modern national aspiration to historical visionaries, the address invoked the predictions of Swami Vivekananda and Maharishi Aurobindo. Swami Vivekananda had envisioned the emergence of an extraordinary, magnificent, and glorious nation, while Maharishi Aurobindo had articulated that the sun of the country's destiny would inevitably rise to illuminate the entire world. Drawing upon these philosophical moorings, it was reiterated that the current citizenry represents the legacy of resilient forebears whose relentless sacrifice, courage, and perseverance laid the bedrock of the modern republic.
Targeting the Global Top Three Economies
Emphasising that the present era calls for bold and unprecedented benchmarks, the address urged citizens and industries to strive for international leadership across key sectors. The stated economic target includes propelling the country into the world's top three economies while completely eradicating poverty. This aspiration extends beyond balance sheets to encompass transformative growth across education, healthcare and wellness, entertainment, athletic performance, cutting-edge technology, and research, ensuring national prestige is elevated across every major human endeavour.
Lifting 25 Crore Citizens Out of Poverty Within a Decade
Underlining the tangible outcomes of targeted social programs, poverty reduction figures from the past ten years were brought into focus. Achieving what once seemed nearly impossible, 25 crore people have successfully exited poverty within the span of a single decade. Citing a quarter-century of governance and public administration experience, the transformation taking place across urban and rural landscapes was presented as direct proof of the productive capacity and determination of 140 crore citizens.
The 2047 Developed Nation Milestone and Public Outreach
Tracing demographic progress, it was noted that while the population stood under 40 crore a century ago, a collective force of over 140 crore individuals now drives national development. The ambitious vision articulated in 2026 is projected to culminate into a fully developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047. The core mission of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha remains two-fold: ensuring government welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary and galvanising widespread public participation toward achieving developed status.
