The Indian government has taken a major step to secure national borders and maintain internal peace by declaring the Shahzad Bhatti Network, also known as SBN, a terrorist organization. Under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, commonly known as UAPA, the Ministry of Home Affairs, or MHA, has banned this group with immediate effect.

The decision to blacklist SBN comes after detailed evaluations of its malicious activities targeting the country's unity. According to official details, the network has been actively operating across borders, facilitating the illegal smuggling of weapons and narcotics. This dual threat of arms and drug trafficking was designed to destabilise border regions and fund illicit activities within India. Beyond physical smuggling, SBN had established a dangerous presence on various digital platforms. The group utilised social media and online channels to propagate hate speech, target gullible young minds, and systematically brainwash them into participating in anti-national activities.

By blacklisting this network under UAPA, the central government has sent a clear and uncompromising message to all hostile elements attempting to disrupt communal harmony. The MHA's swift action reflects a strict zero-tolerance approach toward any network threatening India's sovereignty. With the official ban now in place, law enforcement agencies have received full authority to dismantle the financial and digital infrastructure of the Shahzad Bhatti Network, ensuring that its operations are entirely neutralized.
