Fortunately, the magnitude of these seismic events remained relatively low, ensuring that no major casualties or structural destructions were reported from any of the affected locations. The sudden ground movements forced residents in these vulnerable zones to remain on high alert.
Chamba in Himachal Pradesh Trembled Twice in a Day
Focusing on the Indian territory, Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh experienced two separate episodes of ground shaking within the same day. The very first tremor struck shortly after midnight at precisely 1 बजकर 25 मिनट (1:25 AM). According to the Richter scale, this initial shock measured 2.8 in magnitude and originated at a depth of about 15 kilometers beneath the surface. A few hours later, at around 6 बजकर 20 मिनट (6:20 AM) in the morning, the earth rattled once again in Chamba with a measured magnitude of 2.5. Although these back-to-back tremors caused considerable alarm among local inhabitants, thankfully no property damage was registered.
Myanmar Shaken by Two Distinct Seismic Shocks
Neighboring Myanmar also witnessed a jittery Saturday as two separate earthquakes rattled the country. The first tremor occurred just before noon at 12 बजकर 53 मिनट (12:53 PM) with a modest Richter rating of 3.3. This was followed by another tremor earlier in the morning around 9 बजकर 4 मिनट (9:04 AM), which registered a slightly higher magnitude of 3.7. Seismologists noted that the epicenter of this second event was located deep underground at approximately 134 kilometers. While these consecutive jolts frightened residents across Myanmar, authorities confirmed that no severe destruction took place.
Afghanistan Records the Highest Magnitude Tremors
Among all the affected nations, Afghanistan experienced the strongest intensity tremors during the early morning hours, sending shockwaves through the local population. A notable earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was officially documented at 4 बजकर 43 मिनट (4:43 AM). Prior to that, another tremor of 4.2 magnitude was recorded at 3 बजकर 24 मिनट (3:24 AM) with a subterranean depth of roughly 157 kilometers. The frequency of these strong shakes has left Afghan citizens deeply unsettled.
