A new online recruitment tactic involving the identity of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has been uncovered, pointing to digital operations orchestrated by Pakistan-based handlers. Cyber monitoring revealed that these handlers are running targeted social media campaigns aimed at enticing young individuals across India. To attract recruits, the organizers are offering a monthly financial payout of 50,000 rupees to anyone who agrees to join CJP. Intelligence agencies intercepted the operation after detecting heightened digital activity linked to the organization.
Recruitment via Pakistan-Operated Web Domain and Social Media
Investigations into the digital footprint led intelligence agencies to a specific web domain being directly operated from locations inside Pakistan. The primary objective of this domain is to register young applicants under the guise of CJP membership and subsequently manipulate them for strategic motives. The promotional material circulated across social platforms heavily features slogans such as "Voice of the lazy & unemployed" and "join the movement" to appeal to jobless youth.
To streamline the onboarding process, the digital advertisements include embedded QR codes. Users are instructed to scan these QR codes to complete their membership registration immediately. Security analysts note that the promise of 50,000 rupees per month serves as a deceptive financial lure designed to build a base of susceptible individuals who can later be misled into participating in organized anti-national narratives.
Prior Crackdown by Delhi Police Cyber Unit During CJP Violence
Cross-border digital interference linked to CJP has a recorded history. During previous episodes of CJP-related violence, malicious actors deployed fake narratives and misleading information to inflame public sentiment. In response, the Delhi Police Cyber Unit launched an extensive monitoring campaign to track down suspicious accounts and content streams.
That investigation established that hundreds of provocative posts circulating online were actively managed by overseas handlers in Pakistan. To prevent further escalation and misinformation, the Delhi Police Cyber Unit blocked 480 posts operating from Pakistani locations. Security and intelligence bodies continue to monitor the newly discovered domain and associated social media channels to preempt further manipulation.
