Engineers' Day is celebrated annually on September 15 to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, one of India's most prominent civil engineers and statesmen. His pioneering designs in dam construction, flood protection systems, and irrigation network systems laid the groundwork for modern engineering practices across the nation.
Bengaluru's Educational Infrastructure and UVCE
Bengaluru holds a crucial position in India's technological and educational advancements. Sir M. Visvesvaraya founded the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) in 1917, which now functions as a public state university.
