Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has raised serious concerns against tech giant Meta after his Facebook account was made unavailable within India. Taking to the social media platform X, the political leader stated that the platform restricted his page without providing any prior notice or justification for the decision.
Seeking Clarity from Meta
Kejriwal tagged Meta and its Indian division on X, demanding an immediate explanation regarding the restriction. He pointed out that inquiries made directly with the company's local office confirmed that his official account is no longer accessible to users across India. However, representatives at the office failed to share the technical or official reasons behind the restriction.
Unclear Account Restoration Process
Highlighting the lack of communication from the social media firm, Kejriwal emphasized that no clear guidelines have been communicated regarding how the restriction can be lifted. He questioned why repeated attempts to seek clarity from Meta officials have gone unanswered. The sudden restriction on a prominent leader's public page has renewed debates around platform transparency and content governance in the country.
