Justice Gyan Sudha Misra is a distinguished figure in the Indian judiciary who served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India. She holds the landmark distinction of being the first female Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. Her father, Justice Satish Chandra Mishra, was also a prominent judicial figure who served as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. Justice Misra began her career in the judiciary upon her appointment as a judge of the Patna High Court on 16 March 1994. On 13 July 2008, she assumed charge as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. She was subsequently transferred to the Rajasthan High Court, where she served as a judge for 14 years.
