A sharp political confrontation has broken out in the national capital following an altercation over the construction quality of a newly surfaced road. The dispute escalated around the Ring Road stretch in Vikas Puri when a young person filming the crumbling tarmac was allegedly assaulted by minister Parvesh Verma. Following the confrontation, Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal visited the site in Tilak Nagar to inspect the peeling road surface firsthand, demanding stern administrative and legal consequences against the minister.

The incident originated when local representatives raised serious questions regarding the execution of recent road surfacing work near Vikas Puri. An AAP legislator demonstrated on camera how the newly laid asphalt could be peeled away by hand, alleging severe lapses in construction standards and material usage. As a youth at the site began recording the deteriorating pavement, the exchange grew tense, leading to minister Parvesh Verma losing his composure and striking the young individual. The person involved later recounted that they were merely documenting municipal deficiencies and questioned whether ordinary citizens raising civic grievances would be met with physical aggression.

Following the public outcry, Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Tilak Nagar to assess the physical condition of the damaged infrastructure. Characterising the poor construction as blatant corruption, he stated that the city had rarely witnessed such inferior road work. Taking his protest directly to social media and public forums, Kejriwal called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dismiss Parvesh Verma from ministerial duties immediately and order his arrest. He asserted that no political authority holds the right to intimidate younger generations or silence residents who attempt to expose substandard civic projects.
