An upcoming episode of the OTT reality show The Alliance has stirred up a storm after contestant Kushal Tandon shoved fellow contestant Nikhil Chinapa during a heated argument, prompting host Kunal Kemmu to call him out on the spot without a moment's hesitation. A promo clip surfaced online ahead of the episode's Saturday release, showing the tension boiling over between the contestants and the host. Kushal Tandon was seen breaking down in tears moments later, and a clip of the entire clash has been circulating widely on social media.
An older clash lit the fuse
The flare-up did not come out of nowhere. Days earlier, Kushal Tandon had clashed with fellow contestant Vanshaj Singh, during which he claimed his contract allowed him to physically retaliate if a co-contestant threatened to hit him. Kunal Kemmu had strongly objected to that claim at the time, making it clear on the show that no contestant is permitted to get physical with another, regardless of any provocation.
Kunal Kemmu's blunt call-out after the shove
When Kushal Tandon actually went ahead and pushed Nikhil Chinapa during the argument, Kunal Kemmu reminded him of that earlier claim and asked whether he believed he was above the game's rules. Kunal pointed out that Kushal's claim about being allowed to raise a hand or insult someone under his contract did not hold up, and questioned whether his contract was somehow different from everyone else's on the show. In the viral clip, Kunal is heard telling him firmly, "This is not allowed, this is not acceptable." The host's tone left little doubt that this was not going to be brushed off as a minor slip, and that there would be consequences for the outburst.
Kushal breaks down, Seema Sachdev steps in
It was hardly surprising that Kushal grew emotional after Kunal's sharp reprimand in front of the other contestants. Fellow contestant Seema Sachdev was seen consoling him soon after, telling him he did not need to get caught up in other people's games. Choking up, Kushal said, "I am the only son in my family." He added that he feared what would happen to his family if something happened to him during the game. His words visibly moved the other contestants gathered on set as well.
How the line-up on The Alliance has shifted
Streaming on Prime Video, The Alliance is a high-stakes, strategy-based reality game show hosted by Kunal Kemmu. Interestingly, Vanshaj Singh, the contestant Kushal first clashed with over the contract claim, has re-entered the game for a second time after being voted out once before. Actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan, influencer Vridhi Patwa and Agu Stanley Chiedozie were brought into the game to replace Vanshaj Singh and Ravi Kishan when they exited earlier. Meanwhile, content creator Dolly Jawed has recently been eliminated from the show as well. With the equations shifting week after week and tempers running increasingly high among the contestants, The Alliance continues to keep its audience hooked heading into the next episode.
