Recognizing the growing influence of young voters, particularly Generation Z, in the country's political landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated steps to strengthen its grassroots outreach among the youth. The party is currently designing a targeted Gen Z outreach framework aimed at understanding the aspirations, questions, and concerns of the younger generation while effectively communicating the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure and various government initiatives to citizens.
High-Level Meeting Held at BJP Extension Office
A crucial organizational meeting convened at the BJP extension office finalized the roadmap for this campaign. A dedicated 10-member committee has been established to spearhead the initiative. Party chief Nitin Nabin will chair the committee, while party general secretary Vinod Tawde has been appointed as its coordinator. Other prominent leaders included in the panel are former Union minister Smriti Irani, Harish Dwivedi, and Satish Poonia.
According to party insiders, the newly formed committee will design programs tailored to connect with Gen Z and the broader youth demographic. The core objective extends beyond digital presence, focusing instead on direct ground engagement with young people to understand their primary concerns and priorities.
Promoting Modi Government Works to Gen Z
This strategic move arrives as youth demographics become increasingly pivotal for political parties across the nation. The party intends to highlight key government achievements spanning employment, education, startups, technology, skill development, and national progress in a manner that resonates with young audiences.
The 10-member panel will work on translating the long political tenure and accomplishments of Prime Minister Modi into simplified language and preferred mediums for the youth. This strategy is expected to heavily leverage digital platforms, social media channels, and grassroots community events.
Upcoming Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan
Following the organizational meeting, party general secretary Vinod Tawde shared that October 7, 2026, marks 25 years since Narendra Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. In view of this milestone, the party is preparing to launch a month-long nationwide Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan.
Tawde noted that while the party traditionally organizes a Sewa Pkhwada around Prime Minister Modi’s birthday on September 17, this year the celebrations will be expanded into a comprehensive Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan to commemorate 25 years of public service.
Under this campaign, party workers will not be restricted to hosting formal events; instead, they will be encouraged to engage directly in community service across various societal segments.
Reaching Out to Anganwadi Centers
Anganwadi workers have been assigned a prominent role in the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan. Tawde stated that the party plans to honor the contributions of more than 1.4 million women working in Anganwadis nationwide.
The BJP emphasized that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in delivering government welfare schemes to marginalized individuals and young children, particularly regarding early childhood nutrition and care. Consequently, programs such as Anganwadi Samman and Matru Samman will be organized during the drive. Party workers have been instructed to connect locally with Anganwadi staff to acknowledge their service.
Launching the Sewa Mein Mera Yogdan Initiative
A unique component of the outreach will involve actively engaging youth through an initiative titled Sewa Mein Mera Yogdan. Young people and citizens will be urged to undertake voluntary service projects independently and share their experiences on social media.
Tawde cited cleanliness drives, tree-planting campaigns, and tuberculosis eradication efforts as prime examples. For instance, identifying TB patients within a local community and linking them with official government eradication programs can be showcased as a contribution to public service.
The party aims to encourage youth to produce short reels and digital content highlighting these community efforts, which will then be promoted at district and state levels.
Following the formation of this new team, this marked the initial major organizational review meeting. Directives regarding party activities were issued to various state and regional units. Tawde mentioned that workshops are currently underway with seven-to-eight-member teams across individual states.
The overarching goal is to streamline party operations from the central leadership down to local booths and villages, ensuring cohesive communication of central government schemes and Prime Minister Modi's vision to the public.
