Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a public meeting in Patna. Accusing Rahul Gandhi of acting as a pawn of a foreign toolkit gang, Nabin claimed that Gandhi and his associates are unable to accept India's continuous progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that the opposition is actively trying to undermine the nation's growing global image and development trajectory.
Accusations of Disrespecting the Mandate
Nabin asserted that the opposition, particularly the Congress party, resorts to questioning electoral institutions after suffering defeat in polls, thereby disrespecting the mandate of the general public. He stated that blaming constitutional bodies for electoral losses shows a disregard for democratic traditions and claimed that Rahul Gandhi is serving the interests of foreign forces rather than national priorities.
Addressing the Controversy Over SIR in Bihar
Political tensions remain high in Bihar over the special intensive revision of electoral rolls, known as SIR. Various opposition leaders, student bodies, and social activists have been protesting against alleged irregularities in the voters' list. Challenging these protests, Nitin Nabin questioned how many opposition figures filed formal complaints after the Election Commission completed the SIR process and published the final electoral roll on September 30, 2025.
Ballot Paper Demand Linked to Jungle Raj
Targeting the opposition over their persistent demand to conduct elections using ballot papers instead of electronic voting machines, the BJP chief alleged an underlying attempt to push Bihar back into the era of Jungle Raj. Nabin claimed that individuals who previously used muscle power to capture booths and ballot boxes are now advocating for a return to paper ballots to revive past malpractices.
Double Standards on Election Results
The BJP president pointed out what he described as double standards practiced by opposition parties, noting that they do not question the Election Commission when they win elections in states such as Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, or Tamil Nadu, but quickly target the institution when they lose in regions like Bihar and West Bengal. He warned that undermining democratic institutions over unfavorable outcomes weakens public trust in governance.
The Nation is Watching Closely
Emphasizing that the country's 140 crore citizens are observing all political maneuvers, Nabin warned that attempts to weaken national interests will not be allowed to succeed. He highlighted that while the rest of the world navigates severe global crises, India remains among the nations advancing steadily on the path of development. He had previously alleged that the opposition is attempting to destabilize the country with the backing of external influences.
Launch of Public Grievance App
During the event, Nitin Nabin also launched a public grievance redressal application specifically for the Kumhrar assembly constituency, aimed at ensuring the swift resolution of local civic issues. The gathering saw the presence of Bihar BJP president Sanjay Sarawagi, Kumhrar MLA Sanjay Gupta, and several other leaders.
