In the wake of the NEET-UG examination paper leak controversy, student-led agitations are now noticeably shifting their focus toward state-level administrative recruitment tests. The Cockroach Janata Party has resolved to intensify its campaign against alleged irregularities, corruption, and malpractices in various state public service commission examinations. Additionally, the organization has made it clear that it will prominently champion the rights and welfare of gig workers employed by food delivery platforms alongside laborers in the unorganized sector.
Massive Youth Backing Witnessed at Jantar Mantar
Interacting with media representatives from his residence located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Cockroach Janata Party founder and convener Abhijit Dipke shared detailed insights regarding their upcoming roadmap. He stated that the protest demonstration organized at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi received overwhelming backing not solely from NEET aspirants, but broadly from young aspirants preparing for competitive examinations across the length and breadth of the country. He emphasized that the nation's youth is profoundly disheartened and disgruntled by the recurring instances of paper leaks and persistent malpractice plaguing government jobs and public service commission tests.
Special Attention Directed Toward Bihar and Hindi Belt States
Shedding light on the organization's upcoming trajectory, Abhijit Dipke noted that the primary focal points of their next wave of protests will be Bihar and its surrounding regions. He explained that a significant majority of the crowd gathered at Jantar Mantar hailed from states such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. He pointed out that youths hailing from middle-class and rural backgrounds in these particular states rely heavily on public service commission exams and government jobs for their socio-economic upliftment. The relentless cycle of cancelled examinations and prolonged delays in recruitment drives places a severe cloud of uncertainty over their futures.
Taking Up the Cause of Gig Workers and Unorganized Laborers
According to Dipke, several candidates participating in the Jantar Mantar protest approached him directly and questioned why the organization was restricting its focus solely to NEET, pointing out that the condition of state public service commissions is equally deplorable. Complaints regarding corruption and rigging in government recruitments continue to pour in from all corners of the nation. Acknowledging these deep-seated concerns, the Cockroach Janata Party decided to broaden its core agenda. The organization will now wage a robust grassroots battle to ensure transparency in recruitment exams while simultaneously fighting for the resolution of grievances faced by online delivery platform gig workers and the rights of workers in the unorganized sector.
