Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the administration executed the transfers of twenty senior IAS officers late last night. This widespread restructuring has changed the administrative heads of multiple districts while simultaneously entrusting several experienced officers with new and critical departments. The strategic reallocations aim to optimize governance and streamline public service delivery across various state sectors.
Key Assignments for Shubha Verma and Dr. Sarika Mohan
Among the prominent names featured in this reassignment list, Shubha Verma, who was previously performing her duties as the Secretary of the Revenue Department under the Government of Uttar Pradesh, has been reassigned to a crucial position. She will now take charge as the Labour Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh. Concurrently, the medical education sector has also undergone changes. Dr. Sarika Mohan, who was functioning as the Director General of Medical Education as well as the Secretary of the Medical Education Department for the state government, has been transitioned to a new desk. She has now been appointed as the Director General of Registration for Uttar Pradesh.
Neha Sharma and Arun Kumar Transferred to Critical Roles
In another significant move, Neha Sharma, who was earlier heading the registration wing as the Director General of Registration, has been given a highly responsible portfolio. She will now step into the dual role of Director General of Medical Education and Secretary of the Medical Education Department under the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Alongside her, Arun Kumar, who was serving as the Additional Director of Geology and Mining in the state, has been reassigned. He has been given the responsibility of Mission Director for the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, where he is expected to spearhead key rural development initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities for J. Reema and Deepa Ranjan
According to the official reassignment list issued by the state administration, J. Reema, the Special Secretary of the Geology and Mining Department, has been given additional responsibilities. In addition to her current designation, she has been appointed to hold the supplementary charge of Additional Director of Geology and Mining for Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Deepa Ranjan, who was previously managing rural development efforts as the Mission Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, has been moved to a different administrative sector. She has been assigned the post of Special Secretary in the Culture Department of the Uttar Pradesh government.
New Portfolios for Sanjay Kumar Singh-1 and Riya Kejriwal
The administrative adjustments also impacted Sanjay Kumar Singh-1, who was holding the dual charge of Special Secretary of the Culture Department and Director of Charitable Affairs in Uttar Pradesh. He has now been relieved of his duties as the Special Secretary of the Culture Department. However, while retaining his role as the Director of Charitable Affairs, he has been given the additional charge of Director of Culture for Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, Riya Kejriwal, who was serving as the Managing Director of the Lucknow-headquartered Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, has been transferred to a new department. She has been designated as the Special Secretary of the Child Development and Nutrition Department under the Uttar Pradesh government.

The power distribution sector has also received new leadership as part of this major reshuffle. Sandeep Bhagiya, who was operating as the Additional Commissioner of State Tax in Gautam Buddha Nagar as well as the Additional Commissioner of State Tax in Ghaziabad II, has been entrusted with a pivotal role in the energy department. The state government has appointed him as the new Managing Director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
