Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp jibe at Congress during a public event, saying things have reached a point where, never mind the public, even opposition leaders now look to the central government with hope to get their demands fulfilled. Taking a dig, he said Congress leaders repeatedly say, Modi ji, do this, do that, because they too know perfectly well that if any government can actually deliver, it is this one.
Modi said the way his government works has multiplied the expectations of people across the country. He explained that when the government completes a big task, people's expectations do not stop there; instead they begin demanding even better facilities and even faster development.
Not Discontent, but Rising Aspiration
The Prime Minister refused to read this shift as something negative. Some people see it as discontent, he said, but I see it as the public's rising aspiration. He added that hope is always placed where people believe their dream can actually come true.
Turning his fire on Congress again, he said it is not just ordinary citizens but the entire Congress party that keeps placing fresh demands before the government. According to him, the opposition does this because deep down it too is convinced that only the current government can get the job done.
Every Challenge Carries an Opportunity
Modi said the entire world is passing through a period of major change. Old ways of doing things are facing constant challenges, and rapid transformation is under way at the global level. He said every challenge also brings new opportunities, and India must make the most of them.
He appealed to the country's youth, startups, innovative entrepreneurs and businesspeople to recognise these opportunities and seize them. The Prime Minister assured them that the government stands with them at every step in the spirit of Nation First. He said India is now riding the reform express and the pace of reforms will only get faster in the days ahead.
A Developed India Within This Generation
The Prime Minister said the dream of a developed India belongs not just to the government but is the shared resolve of 140 crore citizens, and the goal will be achieved through this collective effort. With full confidence, he said you will see a developed India take shape with your own eyes. I am not among those who say future generations will witness this work, he added. I want today's generation itself to see the dream of a developed India come true.
Charge of Double Standards
In his address, the Prime Minister also accused Congress, without naming it, of practising double standards. He said some political parties oppose development projects on the one hand while demanding the very same kind of facilities on the other. He especially urged young people, particularly Gen Z, to see through such contradictory and misleading arguments.
