Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and MLA Zeeshan Siddique has received a death threat sent directly to his personal phone number. The threat audio clip was allegedly delivered by absconding gangster Zeeshan Akhtar, raising fresh security concerns surrounding the legislator.
Audio Threat Received While Abroad
According to available details, MLA Zeeshan Siddique is currently outside India on an international trip. Upon receiving the threatening audio message on his personal phone, he immediately alerted the highest state administration and law enforcement authorities regarding the development.
During a telephonic communication, Zeeshan Siddique confirmed that although he is presently abroad, the threat message reached his personal contact number. He stated that he has informed Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti about the incident, adding that necessary legal steps will be initiated in due course.
Police Verification and Previous Security Complaint
A senior Mumbai Police official acknowledged that the matter has come to their attention. However, the officer noted that a formal written complaint from Zeeshan Siddique has not yet been lodged with the police department.
This incident follows an earlier development where Zeeshan Siddique's sister had registered a Non-Cognizable (NC) report with the police after an alleged threat audio clip previously went viral. Mumbai Police authorities are now actively conducting the verification process to validate the authenticity of the newly surfaced audio message.
