Both major political outfits, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, are witnessing a surge in enthusiasm and lobbying among potential candidates aiming for party tickets. In the Jhotwara assembly constituency specifically, Sunday turned out to be a hub of intense political activity as workers and hopeful nominees converged in large numbers.
The residence of cabinet minister and Jhotwara legislator Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore remained crowded from morning until evening. Local residents and party cadres from various areas flocked to meet the minister, with multiple aspirants using the opportunity to solidify their candidature claims. Alongside these physical meetings, hectic behind-the-scenes contacts with senior organizational leaders were stepped up to influence upcoming political realignments.
During his interactions with workers and ticket hopefuls, Rathore gathered ground-level feedback regarding local challenges, organizational strength, and election preparedness. Emphasizing the democratic ethos of his party, he noted that the organization belongs to its grassroots workers rather than any single family. For instance, the bypass area previously suffered from a severe lack of proper drainage and sewerage facilities, but remedial projects are now being aggressively executed there.
Key utility upgrades include laying underground high-tension power cables, installing new sewerage networks, building water storage tanks, and laying pipelines. A comprehensive drainage system is currently taking shape in Prithviraj Nagar. Furthermore, authorities claim that a drainage network costing approximately 60 crore rupees is being developed in the Sirsi Road area.
Additional infrastructure works involving sewerage and drainage were highlighted in the Chitrakoot and Vaishali Nagar neighborhoods. In localities historically plagued by waterlogging, new cement concrete roads are being constructed to resolve commuting and drainage hurdles permanently.
Responding to opposition criticism concerning developmental projects, Rathore maintained that minor operational hiccups are entirely natural during large-scale execution. He acknowledged that raising questions is the rightful duty of the opposition and forms the bedrock of a vibrant democracy. However, he countered that the administration responds not merely with words, but through tangible work delivered on the ground.
Meanwhile, individuals eyeing party tickets for the local body elections have pulled out all stops to bolster their prospects. Potential candidates are intensifying door-to-door outreach in their respective wards and galvanizing local supporters.
