Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has staged a demonstration outside the Parliament Street police station in Delhi alongside Sahil Lochab, a victim of a pellet gun incident. The Lok Sabha member representing Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, has declared that he will remain on dharna outside the police premises until law enforcement officially registers a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the matter.
Demanding Progress Report on Police Probe
Accompanying Sahil Lochab to the DCP office, the senior Congress leader sought direct updates on the status of the investigation. Rahul Gandhi pressed police officials for a full report detailing what concrete steps have been taken following the incident. In order to ascertain the exact ground situation of the probe, he also attempted to interact directly with senior police officers present at the location.
Sequence of Events from Connaught Place to Parliament Street
The dispute stems from a protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, during which pellet guns were allegedly deployed. Sahil Lochab has accused the Delhi Police of turning down his request to file an official complaint. Before reaching the DCP office at the Parliament Street police station, both Rahul Gandhi and Sahil Lochab initially visited the Connaught Place police station to lodge the FIR. With no resolution there, they proceeded to the Parliament Street station, where the sit-in protest is currently ongoing.
