Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has targeted Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), questioning his claims of being a student leader. Rijiju alleged that Dipke is an active worker of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and asked how an AAP worker could pass off as a student representative leading protests.
Allegations of AAP Hijacking Student Protests
Addressing the recent demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, the Union Minister accused the Aam Aadmi Party of attempting to hijack student movements for political gain. Referring to young protesters, Rijiju noted that Gen-Z youth are the country's own children and emphasized that the government is always open to constructive dialogue with them. He questioned the narrative being created around the demonstrations, asking why exaggerated claims were being made when no violence or firing took place at the venue.
Comments on Abhijeet Dipke and CJP
Speaking about Dipke, Rijiju initially took a softer stance, remarking that Dipke comes from his native region and belongs to the Buddhist community. However, he quickly pointed out Dipke's party affiliation, reiterating that a political worker should not disguise himself as an independent student activist. The Union Minister maintained that political parties should refrain from exploiting genuine student causes for party politics.
Background on Jantar Mantar Protests
The Union Minister's remarks followed statements made by Dipke regarding the launch of 'Season 2' of the Cockroach Janta Party's agitation at Jantar Mantar. The government maintains that while it remains eager to engage with youth over authentic concerns, politically motivated campaigns under the garb of student movements must be highlighted.
