In the wake of intense demonstrations across the country over competitive examination paper leaks, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a fierce rhetorical offensive against the opposition. Targeting the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, the Chief Minister accused them of political hypocrisy, claiming that those who previously compromised the careers of millions of young aspirants are now pretending to champion their cause. The protests, which have drawn substantial attention at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and several other urban centers, have intensified the ongoing debate surrounding educational reforms and security.
A Strong Endorsement of the Tough Anti-Cheating Legislation
Adityanath expressed deep gratitude toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the federal cabinet's recent approval of the stringent Anti-Cheating Law. He commended the swift legislative response taken within the last three days to protect the academic integrity and future prospects of students. Under the newly enacted provisions, those found guilty of operating cheating syndicates or leaking exam papers will face rigorous imprisonment of up to ten years along with a massive financial penalty extending up to ten crore rupees. According to the Chief Minister, this decisive step will act as a major deterrent against the manipulation of recruitment drives.
Slamming the Alleged Corrupt Practices of Previous Administrations
Reflecting on the governance model in Uttar Pradesh before his tenure, the Chief Minister did not hold back in criticizing the Samajwadi Party's historical handling of government recruitments. He alleged that a notorious syndicate based out of Saifai used to virtually hijack job opportunities, systematically denying meritorious candidates their rightful employment. Adityanath pointed out that during the period between 2012 and 2017, virtually every single employment notification was mired in legal battles and integrity issues due to a complete lack of merit-based selection. He claimed that a prominent uncle-nephew duo of the party was actively involved in extortion whenever a vacancy was announced.
A Transformative Shift in Employment Statistics
In contrast to the controversial recruitment processes of the past, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant turnaround achieved in the state since 2017. He asserted that over the course of the past nine years, the state administration has successfully delivered government jobs to more than nine lakh young citizens in Uttar Pradesh. This substantial volume of public employment, according to him, has been executed with absolute transparency, ensuring that only qualified and deserving individuals are appointed to critical administrative and public service roles.
Critique of Samajwadi Party's Alleged Land Grabbing and Financial Misconduct
Shifting his focus to the developmental record of the opposition, Adityanath stated that development was never a priority on the political agenda of the Samajwadi Party. He argued that the current state of despair and aimlessness among opposition leaders stems from the strict administrative crackdown on their illegal activities. He asserted that businesses built on illicit contracts, shady lease agreements, and unauthorized land encroachment have been completely dismantled. Because they can no longer seize vacant plots of land or private properties as they allegedly did in the past, their financial operations have collapsed, leaving them highly frustrated.
Massive Infrastructure Projects Launched Across Districts
Prior to addressing the public on these political matters, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the launch of an extensive array of developmental schemes. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 552 public welfare projects collectively valued at more than 2,105 crore rupees, spanning various legislative constituencies in Agra, Jalaun, and Fatehpur. Additionally, the Chief Minister distributed crucial welfare checks, authorization letters, and resource kits to pre-selected beneficiaries of different state schemes. This major regional push follows another recent administrative milestone where developmental initiatives worth 581 crore rupees were presented to the residents of Shamli.
