Journey Home on Official Leave
According to available details, Moti Singh had secured ten days of sanctioned leave from his army unit and commenced his journey towards Ramdevra on September 30. Upon reaching Phalodi midway through his transit, he encountered his maternal cousin, Jaswant Singh. Following this unexpected meeting, Moti Singh decided to forgo continuing the rest of the journey by bus, opting instead to ride pillion alongside Jaswant Singh on a two-wheeler to cover the remaining stretch back home to Ramdevra.
Severe Motorcycle Crash Near Kalra Village
The accident took place near Kalra village, approximately 40 kilometres ahead of Ramdevra, when their motorcycle was involved in a violent crash. The impact was intense enough to leave both cousins critically hurt on the tarmac. Alert locals and commuters swiftly rushed to the spot, assisting in the evacuation of both injured men to the government hospital in Phalodi. Medical personnel administered urgent stabilization and first aid, but noticing the precarious condition of Moti Singh, doctors immediately referred him to a major hospital in Jodhpur for specialized trauma care. While undergoing intensive medical treatment in Jodhpur, the soldier breathed his last on Thursday night.

News of the soldier's untimely demise caused intense sorrow within his household, and his family promptly communicated the incident to the senior officers of his battalion. On Friday, when Moti Singh's mortal remains, draped in the tricolour, arrived in Ramdevra, an emotional atmosphere gripped the entire community. A massive funeral procession moved through the village on Friday evening, drawing large crowds of local villagers, community elders, and public representatives. Army officer Mahendra Singh and soldiers from the unit paid a ceremonial tribute, executing a formal guard of honour and firing shots into the air to salute their fallen comrade. Pokaran MLA Mahant Pratap Puri and Ramdevra administrator Samandar Singh were also present to pay their respects.
