Air quality across all seven divisional headquarters and major industrial belts of Rajasthan has largely settled in the moderate range. According to fresh measurements from the Central Pollution Control Board and regional monitoring stations, the state capital Jaipur registered an Air Quality Index reading of 109, positioning it firmly within the moderate zone. Ambient monitoring identified particulate matter 10, commonly termed PM-10, as the primary pollutant driving atmospheric contamination in the capital city. While conditions in most urban areas allow normal breathing, industrial centers continue to see persistent haze and elevated pollutant concentrations.
Air Quality Across Divisional Headquarters
A closer look at other divisional centers shows comparable environmental conditions across the state. In western Rajasthan, the city of Jodhpur recorded an AQI of 126, while Udaipur in the southern belt hovered at 125. The pilgrimage hub of Ajmer fared slightly better with an index value of 110. In contrast, Bikaner experienced significantly dustier air, pushing its AQI level up to 163. Meanwhile, Kota in the Hadoti region logged an index around 120, and Bharatpur in eastern Rajasthan touched roughly 150. Because every divisional center remains in this intermediate bracket, environmental analysts and medical observers are urging vulnerable residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor exertion.
Industrial Centers and Heavy Pollution in Bhiwadi
Industrial corridors across the state presented a contrasting atmospheric picture. Alwar, located adjacent to the national capital region, reported an AQI of 107, keeping its air quality in the moderate bracket. The textile hub of Bhilwara stood at 128, whereas Sikar recorded an index close to 160, shifting toward the threshold of poor air quality. Nevertheless, Bhiwadi emerged as the most polluted locality anywhere in Rajasthan, posting a peak AQI of around 184. The non-stop operation of manufacturing plants, factory emissions, and heavy freight transit are considered the prime drivers behind the dense pollution blanket over Bhiwadi.
Health Advisories and Weather Forecast
Although the prevailing air quality does not pose an immediate hazard to healthy adults, individuals coping with asthma, cardiovascular troubles, and chronic lung conditions face notable risks. Healthcare practitioners advise elderly citizens and respiratory patients to curb vigorous outdoor workouts and morning walks while smog lingers. Wearing protective masks outdoors can minimize particulate inhalation. Forecasters expect clear weather and adequate sunshine over the coming days, which could help disperse suspended dust and gradually improve ambient conditions across the state.
